Jason Johnson Sweeps Night One At Devil's Bowl Speedway

The World Of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series headed to Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Friday night for race number one of two for the weekend. 

In qualifying, Jason Johnson set the fastest lap, which put him in heat race number one. 

Johnson would continue to set the pace, as he would lead every lap and win heat race number one. This would put Johnson on the pole for the dash inversion. 

As the dash got underway for six laps, Johnson continued to show the field who's boss and go on to lead every lap, ultimately winning the dash. By winning the dash, this gave Jason Johnson a front row starting spot in the 25 lap A-Main feature. 

The 25 lap A-Main feature eventually got underway, but shortly after the green flag, Travis Rilat's machine went upside down in turn two. The driver walked away from the incident ok. Turn two was another trouble spot as Christopher Bell went sideways with 22 laps to go, and brought out another caution. 

After a messy start, there was some intense racing action in the closing laps. Johnson was getting in to heavy lap traffic, which thus allowed Jason Sides and Brad Sweet to close in on the leader. With eight laps to go, Sweet passed Sides for second and set his eyes on Johnson. However, after Sweet's battle with Sides, Johnson was able to pull away from that battle and went on to sweep night one at Devil's Bowl Speedway.
